Southwest District – Drivers will experience lane closures and possible traffic delays when a project to install new drainage systems at 11 bridges in seven southwest Missouri counties begins the week of March 14, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will install drainage troughs made of a rubber-like material below the bridges allowing water to efficiently drain off the driving surface.
Bridges impacted include:
- Cedar County Route J over Sac River
- Missouri Route 245 in Dade County over Stockton Lake
- Dade County Route Y over Stockton Lake
- Missouri Route 7 in Benton County over Truman Lake (Mile Long Bridge)
- Missouri Route 13 in St. Clair County over Osage River near Osceola (both north- and southbound bridges)
- Missouri Route 83 in Benton County over Truman Lake
- Clair County Route H over Osage River
- Missouri Route 13 in Henry County over Truman Lake (south of Clinton)
- Missouri Route 7 in Benton County over Truman Lake
- Missouri Route 64 in Hickory County over Pomme de Terre Lake
Traffic Impacts:
- Traffic reduced to one lane where crews are working
- Drivers will encounter temporary traffic signals guiding them through the work zones
- Drivers urged to use caution due to large equipment and contractor crews close to traffic
- No signed detours planned
- Drivers urged to find alternate routes
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
