ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) would like to remind motorists and local residents of the planned closure of Buchanan County Route U on Monday. Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. was contracted by MoDOT to rehabilitate the Contrary Creek Bridge on Route U. Crews plan to close the bridge to all traffic on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. The project is scheduled to be complete, and the bridge reopened to traffic, in mid-May 2022.
During construction, motorists must use an alternate route.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by always buckling up, keeping your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones. NEVER drive around barricades. Know before you go and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.
Also at modot.org, sign up online for work zone updates. Information is also available 24/7 at 888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636) or via social media.
