Barry County – Drivers should expect lane closings and occasional traffic delays when work resumes on roadway improvements on Missouri Route 37 near Washburn beginning the week of February 7, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The contractor will be widening and adding a passing lane on Route 37 north of Washburn.
Traffic Impacts:
- Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are working
- Drivers may encounter flaggers and/or pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
- No signed detours
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
- Drivers are urged to find alternate routes
This work will complete a project to make roadway improvements along Missouri Route 37 between Monett and the Missouri/Arkansas state line that began last spring, but was suspended for a time due to delays during utility relocation in the area.
Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.
Project Information:
- Prime contractor: APAC Central Inc., Springfield
- Total project cost: $11.3 million
- Contract completion date: May 4, 2022
