Railroad Crossing Work to Close Route 5 in Lebanon

LEBANON – Repairs being made to a railroad crossing along a high-traveled roadway in Lebanon will require the closure of the road over multiple days next week.

Route 5 (Jefferson Avenue) will be closed in both directions between Commercial Street and Pierce Street from 6 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15 until 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 16.

Traffic will be detoured around the area. Signs advising motorists of the closure will be placed along the route.

The work is being conducted by contractors working for the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad.

The work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
