Deck Replacement of Route H Bridge Delayed

JEFFERSON CITY – The replacement of the deck on the Cole County Route H bridge over Bois Brule Creek has been extended by up to three months, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).

MoDOT has determined that further bridge repairs are required prior to pouring the new deck.

“The additional work will likely push back the opening date of the new bridge to February,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Bob Lynch. “While this was not the outcome originally hoped for, we are working closely with the contractor to put plans in place and have the work done as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate the understanding and patience of motorists and residents in the area that are impacted by this closure.”

Work on the bridge began on October 11 and was originally scheduled for completion by December. Work consists of the replacement of the bridge’s deck and superstructure. MoDOT will advise the public of the new completion date once details are finalized.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
