Portion of southbound I-435 will be reduced to ONE LANE on Dec. 2 for pavement marking work

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is wrapping up its bridge work along Interstate 435 over Gregory Blvd. and Oldham Parkway. These bridge repairs have currently reduced southbound I-435 to two lanes.

To complete the project, crews will reduce I-435 to ONE LANE at Gregory Blvd. and Oldham Parkway beginning at 9 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2. This closure is to remove the temporary pavement markings and place the permanent markings back in their original configuration. Once this work is completed, all three lanes of southbound I-435 will be re-opened. All work is weather permitting.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
