St. Louis Work Zones for December 2-8

ST. LOUIS – Drivers traveling in St. Louis City who have used the 3000 Market Street (Exit 38B) ramp from westbound Interstate 64 will need to determine new routes as the ramp will permanently close next week as part of constructing the new interchange at I-64 and Jefferson.

Crews will permanently close the ramp at 9 a.m. Monday, December 6 to remove it.  Until the new ramp from westbound I-64 to 22nd Street opens before the end of the year, drivers will need to use the Forest Park Avenue exit (Exit 38A), turn right on Grand Boulevard and turn right on Lindell Boulevard. Drivers can follow Lindell until it becomes Olive Street, and it intersects with Jefferson Avenue. Turning right on Jefferson will lead back to Market Street.

Removing this ramp allows traffic from Jefferson to flow more smoothly to westbound I-64, while also simplifying traffic flow from westbound I-64 to Forest Park Avenue.

Drivers in North St. Louis County who travel I-270 near Lindbergh Boulevard this weekend should be aw re that crews will close both eastbound and westbound I-270 intermittently for periods of 15-30 minutes, between 9 p.m. Friday, December 3, and 7 a.m. Saturday, December 4. Between these short closures, both directions of I-270 will be reduced to one lane. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes Friday night or give themselves extra time to drive through this area as the full closures will happen at various times.

The closures will allow workers to set girders in place to support the bridge deck of the new southbound Lindbergh Boulevard bridge over I-270.

For more on roadway closures due to construction, additional work zone information and real-time roadway weather conditions go to http://traveler.modot.org/map.  For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com. All work is subject to change and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
