TRAFFIC ALERT: Route 37 CLOSED at Locations in Newton & Lawrence Counties Nov. 29-Dec. 7

Where: Missouri Route 37 at four locations between Wentworth and Pierce City

  • Route 37 at Lawrence County Road 2225 near Pierce City
  • Route 37 near Lawrence County Road 1020 west of Pierce City
  • Route 37 north of Lawrence County Route VV east of Wentworth
  • Route 37 at Newton County Route J (W. Chestnut Street) in Wentworth

When: 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday, November 29 through Tuesday, December 7

What: MoDOT crews replacing pipes underneath the road

Traffic Impacts:

  • All lanes of Route 37 CLOSED during daytime hours only where crews are working
  • All lanes of Route 37 OPEN during nighttime hours
  • No work is planned on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Dec. 3-5
  • Drivers will be able to access driveways and entrances on either side of the work zones, but will not be able to travel through the work zones
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes
  • No signed detour planned
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
