Survey Work to Begin on Columbia I-70 Bridges Project

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Motorists traveling on Interstate 70 in Columbia, Mo., next week will see the first flurry of activity on the project to replace the bridges at Business Loop 70/West Boulevard, Garth Avenue and Missouri Route 763/Rangeline Street.

Crews will begin surveying the stretch of roadway between Garth Avenue and Rangeline on Monday, July 6. The work, which will last about two weeks, will take place off of the highway and won't impact traffic.

A public meeting to share information about the project, including projected traffic impacts, will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 at Emery Sapp and Sons, 2301 I-70 Drive NW. The public is invited to stop by at any time during those hours to learn more about the project.

Emery Sapp and Sons, along with partner Parsons Transportation Group, is the contractor on the $18 million design-build project. Design-build is a project delivery method that combines both the design and construction phases into one contract to save time and resources.
