Meeting on Columbia I-70 Bridges Set for Feb. 23

The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting to share information about the changes in store at the Business Loop 70 interchange as part of the project to replace the Interstate 70 bridges over Garth Avenue, Rangeline Street and Business Loop 70.

The open-house style meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the offices of Emery Sapp and Sons, 2301 I-70 Drive NW, Columbia, Mo. Representatives from MoDOT, Emery Sapp and Parsons Transportation Group will be available to answer questions about the project, its construction schedule and traffic impacts.

In addition to the new bridge at the Business Loop interchange, dual-lane roundabouts will be built on the north and south sides of I-70 to move traffic better and faster.

Emery Sapp and Sons, along with partner Parsons Transportation Group, is the contractor and engineer on the $18 million design-build project. The project began in August of 2015 and is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 1.
