Rangeline to Close for Several Hours Tuesday

Reminder: Public Meeting on Business Loop Changes Set for Tuesday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The southbound lanes of Rangeline Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to noon on Tuesday as part of the project to replace the Interstate 70 bridges at Rangeline Street, Business Loop 70 and Garth Avenue. Southbound Rangeline traffic will be routed west on I-70 to Providence then south on Providence to their destination or east on I-70 back to Rangeline, and then continue south.

The closure will allow the contractor, Emery Sapp and Sons, to stage material and drive piling for the new eastbound I-70 bridge at Rangeline.

In addition, the Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on Tuesday to share information about the changes in store at the Business Loop 70 interchange as part of the bridge replacement project.

The open-house style meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the offices of Emery Sapp and Sons, 2301 I-70 Drive NW, Columbia, Mo. Representatives from MoDOT, Emery Sapp and Parsons Transportation Group will be available to answer questions about the project, its construction schedule and traffic impacts.

In addition to the new bridge at the Business Loop interchange, dual-lane roundabouts will be built on the north and south sides of I-70 to move traffic better and faster.

The $18 million design-build project began in August of 2015 and is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 1. For more information and to sign up to receive weekly e-mail updates on the project, visit www.modot.org/ColumbiaBridges.
