ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A treatment to make U.S. Route 36 smoother for travelers in Linn County between the Macon County Line and Parson’s Creek, just west of Meadville, is planned for next week. The work is part of a resurfacing project for which the Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.
The contractor plans to diamond grind several sections, both directions, Monday, Oct. 4 through Wednesday, Oct. 6. This will be a moving operation during daylight hours, only. Motorists should remain alert, slow down, and use caution when going through the work zone.
One lane, each direction will remain open throughout the project. A 14-foot width restriction will be in place during the work.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT is asking drivers to work with us this construction season. Always buckle up and keep your phone down, and slow down and move over in work zones. Know before you go, and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.
