Rescheduled: Crews will close various lanes along a portion of I-49 beginning on Sept. 20

JACKSON AND CASS COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City will be making pavement repairs that will require the following closures. Motorists should plan ahead and find an alternate route if necessary. All work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will close two lanes of southbound I-49 at approximately mile marker 177.4 (Jackson County) for pavement repairs beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close one lane of southbound I-49 at approximately mile marker 174.2 (Cass County) for pavement repairs beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close one lane of northbound I-49 at approximately mile marker 175.2 (Cass County) for pavement repairs beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close one lane of southbound I-49 at approximately mile marker 163.4 (Cass County) for pavement repairs beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
