Extended closure scheduled for eastbound U.S. Route 36 ramp to Route 759

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close the ramp from eastbound U.S. Route 36 to southbound Route 759 (Stockyards Expressway) in St. Joseph next week to complete safety improvements at the ramp, including concrete and guardrail work.

The ramp will close on the morning of Monday, Sept. 20, along with the driving lane of eastbound U.S. Route 36 at the same location. Both the ramp and driving lane will be closed around-the-clock through Friday, Oct. 1. Motorists will need to use an alternate route.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by always buckling up, keeping your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones. Know before you go and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.
