MoDOT: Future Intersection Improvement Projects at U.S. Route 160 and

Christian County Routes AA & CC in Nixa Focus of September 7-21 Virtual (Online) Public Hearing

Nixa, Christian County – The public is invited to a virtual (online) public hearing to discuss proposed projects to improve the intersections of U.S. Route 160 and Christian County Routes AA & Route CC in Nixa, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The virtual public hearing will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, through 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 21. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning their views on the design and construction of these improvements in Christian County, with reference to the economic and social effects of such design, its impact on the environment, and its consistency with the goals and objectives of the community. The presently contemplated improvements include a Continuous Flow Intersection at the intersection of U.S. Route 160 and Route CC, and a Continuous Green T Intersection at the intersection of U.S. Route 160 and Route AA.  The project goals are to provide for the safe and efficient movement of travelers through these intersections.

Right of way and easements will be acquired for these projects.

Preliminary plans prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation will be available for public viewing during the virtual hearing.  Written statements and exhibits will be received electronically through a link on the project website.  Written statements and exhibits will be made a part of the public hearing transcript if received by Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

Construction is scheduled for Spring 2023.

The estimated total project cost:

  • Route 160 and Route AA is $5.6 million
  • Route 160 and Route CC is $5.2 million
