Crews will CLOSE MO Route 58 Bridge over Big Creek beginning on Sept. 7 for replacement

CASS COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City will be replacing the MO Route 58 Bridge over Big Creek beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 7. This work require the total closure of the MO Route 58 bridge over Big Creek until approximately Dec. 2021. Motorists can follow the signed detour. All work is weather permitting.

Detour Information

  • Eastbound MO Route 58 travelers can follow northbound MO Route 291 to eastbound MO Route 150 and then follow southbound MO Route 7 back onto MO Route 58.
  • Westbound MO Route 58 travelers can follow northbound MO Route 7 to westbound MO Route 150 and then follow southbound MO Route 291 back onto MO Route 58.

This project was let in combination with the bridge replacement project of the MO Route 291 bridge over Middle Big Creek that was completed in June 2021.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
