TRAFFIC ALERT: Expect Lane/Ramp Closures, Traffic Delays on Southbound I-49 at I-44 on Aug. 23

Where: Southbound I-49 at I-44 near Fidelity in Jasper County

When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, August 23

What: MoDOT crews inspecting westbound I-44 bridge over I-49

Traffic Impact:

  • Right lane of southbound I-49 CLOSED beginning at Exit 46
  • Westbound I-44-to-southbound Missouri Route 59 ramp CLOSED
    • Westbound I-44 drivers wishing to travel south on Route 59 should continue west to Exit 13 (Prigmor Avenue) and return to eastbound I-44 and then to Exit 18 to southbound Route 59
  • Left lane of southbound I-49/Route 59 OPEN to traffic
  • Expect traffic delays on southbound I-49 where crews are working
  • Drivers are urged to use alternate routes

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
