MACON – Weather permitting, within the next couple of weeks, crews will begin work on a bridge replacement project on Audrain County Route J at Middle Lick Creek, located 1.2 miles west of Missouri Route 19 near Laddonia. Emery Sapp & Sons, of Columbia, Missouri, was awarded the project in the amount of $817,637. The contractor has 85 calendar days to complete the project.
“The bridge over Middle Lick Creek is over 60 years old and has faced a lot of deterioration over the years,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Brian Untiedt. “It is now in need of replacement,” he added.
Route J will be closed at this location while the work is completed. Crews set signs earlier this week to notify motorists of the upcoming work.
This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
