Ramp and lane closures planned for U.S. Route 36 and Interstate 229

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close five Interstate 229 and U.S. Route 36 ramps this week for continued guardrail work.

Single-day closure:

Tuesday, Aug. 17

• U.S. Route 59 (St. Joseph Avenue) to southbound I-229

Around-the-clock closures:

Tuesday, Aug. 17 – Thursday, Aug. 19:

• Southbound I-229 to eastbound U.S. Route 36 (Exit 4B)

Wednesday, Aug. 18 – Friday, Aug. 20:

• Eastbound and westbound U.S. Route 36 to southbound I-229

• Southbound I-229 to 6th Street (Exit 4A)

• Right-hand ramp/merge lane on I-229 between U.S. Route 36 and 6th Street

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
