Pavement repairs and resurfacing work scheduled for portion of MO Route 7 beginning Aug. 16

CASS COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City will be resurfacing and making pavement repairs along MO Route 7 (Mechanic St.) from approximately I-49 to Independence St. in Harrisonville, MO beginning on Monday, Aug. 16 through mid-December. This project also includes sidewalk and ADA improvements from Commercial St. to Independence St. The work will provide a smoother and safer roadway for motorists.

Construction will begin with asphalt work between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, through Saturday, Aug. 21. Motorists can expect to see various lane closures in the evenings along with a flagging operation to guide traffic through the work zone between I-49. and Independence St. during this time.

Once asphalt repairs are completed, crews will begin concrete replacement work on approximately Monday, Aug. 23, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily until approximately Thursday, Sept. 2. This work will require Mechanic St. to be ONE WAY only, closing westbound Mechanic St. from Commercial St. to Independence St. Motorists headed westbound on Mechanic St. will be routed south on Independence St. and will turn right onto S. Commercial St. and follow it north back to Mechanic St.

This work will be followed by night time pavement resurfacing operations. Full details of this work will be announced at a later date. All work is weather permitting.
