Updated Information: Southbound I-435 over Blue River to be reduced to TWO LANES beginning on Aug. 4

JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City will be making joint repairs along southbound I-435 over the Blue River between I-70 and Front Street beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, through Wednesday, Aug. 18. This work will require the closure of the right most lane and the shoulder in the area. This will reduce southbound I-435 to two lanes between Front St. and U.S. 24/Independence Ave.

Beginning at 9 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, crews will be placing barrier wall that could potentially require the closure of an additional lane reducing the area to one lane.

There will be delays in the area. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, leave early, or consider alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
