ST. LOUIS – Drivers using Jefferson to head west on Interstate 64 in the city of St. Louis will need to consider alternate routes as crews will close the ramp there for two months, starting next week.
Crews will close the ramp from Jefferson to westbound I-64 at 9 a.m. Monday, August 9, after morning rush, for work to widen the ramp as part of the new interchange between 22nd Street and Jefferson.
Drivers can use Jefferson at Market as a detour to the westbound interstate around the ramp closure.
The ramp will reopen by mid-October.
Additionally, crews will close the westbound lane of Pershall Road between West Florissant and Knollstone Drive starting August 9 as they convert this section of Pershall to an eastbound outer road. One eastbound lane of traffic will remain open until May 2022 when the outer road reopens.
Pershall from Elizabeth to Knollstone Drive will remain open to both eastbound and westbound traffic for several months during the first phase of construction.
Signed detours will direct motorists from West Florissant to use Dunn to travel westbound.
For more on roadway closures due to construction, additional work zone information and real-time roadway weather conditions go to http://traveler.modot.org/map. For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com. All work is subject to change and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
