Work began on Spur 13 (John Shea Drive) this week will continue through the fall

LAFAYETTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation began work on Spur 13 (John Shea Drive) this week. The road will continue to be closed between Delaware and McDonald’s through September.

MoDOT determined that the slide condition on Spur 13 had progressed to the point that travel along the road is a concern for traffic. This portion of the road will remain closed until the slide can be repaired.

Locals are advised to take 16th St. for access to the Lafayette Regional Health and the Battle of Lexington Museum.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
