Guardrail work to impact interstate traffic in St. Joseph

St. Joseph, Mo. – Guardrail work may impact northbound Interstate 29 traffic near the U.S. Route 36 ramps next week. In order to safely complete the work, contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close the auxiliary, far right lane, between the on- and off-ramps at northbound I-29 and U.S. Route 36 in St. Joseph on Monday, July 26, from 9 to 11 a.m.

During the lane closure, motorists may experience delays. Drivers are reminded to eliminate all distractions as vehicles will entering and exiting the highway with little notice, due to the reduced lanes.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by always buckling up, keeping your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones. Know before you go and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.
