Polk & St. Clair Counties – Drivers can expect lane closings on Missouri Route 13 in Polk and St. Clair Counties when contractor crews resurface the state route starting the week of August 2, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Route 13 will receive a new asphalt driving surface between the Polk/Greene County line to St. Clair County Route UU north of Humansville. Work will be done during daytime hours.

This project includes resurfacing Route 13 between Norton Road in Springfield and the Polk/Greene County line. This portion of the project has not yet been scheduled. The total length of the project is 69 miles.

Traffic Impacts:

  • ‘Round the clock lane closings where crews are resurfacing roadway
  • Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
  • During higher traffic volume times, expect occasional delays
  • Drivers may need to seek alternate routes to get to their destinations

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Capital Paving & Construction LLC, Columbia is doing the work for a low bid amount of $7 million.

The project is to be completed by early November 2021.
