Resurfacing Project Set to Begin on U.S. Route 24 in Randolph County

MACON – Weather permitting, Tuesday, July 27, crews will begin work on a resurfacing project on U.S. Route 24 in Randolph County. The project consists of resurfacing from 1.5 miles west of Randolph County Route C to 0.90 mile east of U.S. Route 63 near Moberly for a total of approximately nine miles. Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, of Columbia, Missouri, was awarded the contract in the amount of $2,320,273. They have 75 calendar days to complete the project.

“Traffic will be one lane in certain areas while this project is completed,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Brian Untiedt. “We ask for the patience of motorists if they are traveling through this area, as there could be delays,” he added.

Crews will be putting up message boards to notify the public of the upcoming work. Some of the work will be completed at night. Please remember to always put your cell phone down to help eliminate distractions, and always wear your seat belt.
