MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, July 26, crews will close Missouri Route 11 at Steer Creek, located 4.7 miles east of U.S. Route 63 near Kirksville, for bridge replacement. Widel, Inc., of Blackwater, Missouri, was awarded the project in the amount of $530,771. They have 75 days to complete this project.
“This bridge is currently striped as one lane,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Amy Crawford. “Once completed, Steer Creek will be 26 feet wide and have two-foot shoulders, while allowing two-lane traffic to cross,” she added.
This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Crews will begin setting signs for the project to notify motorists of the upcoming closure.
