Asphalt repairs on portions of I-470 and I-70 scheduled for July 19

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will be making pavement repairs along portions of I-470 and I-70 beginning at 9 p.m. on Monday, July 19, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning. This work will require various lane and ramp closures (listed below). All work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will close the northbound I-470 ramp to westbound I-70.
  • Crews will close the westbound I-70 ramp to southbound I-470.
  • Crews will close the right most lane of westbound I-70 from Little Blue Parkway to southbound MO Route 291.
  • Crews will close two lanes along eastbound I-70 from South Crysler Ave. to South Lee’s Summit Rd.
  • One lane of ramp from westbound I-70 to U.S. 40 will be closed.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
