Traffic Alert: Look for lane/ramp closures as part of I-29 bridge inspection

CLAY/JACKSON COUNTIES – The Missouri Department of Transportation will make the following traffic changes as part of a I-29 bridge inspection and conceptual study plan. All work is weather dependent.

 

Saturday, July 24

Crews will close the left lane of northbound I-29, from just north of Highway 24/Independence Ave. to East 16th from 7 am until 2 pm for deck core drilling work

Crew will close the left lane of southbound I-29, from East 16th, to just north of Highway 24/Independence Ave. from 8am until 3pm for deck core drilling work

 

Sunday, July 25

Crews will the close the right lane of northbound I-29 from just north of Highway 24/Independence Ave. to East 16th from 7am until 2pm for deck core drilling work

Crews will close the exit ramp from northbound I-29 to Front St./Grand Blvd. (exit 4) from 7am until 2pm for deck core drilling work

Crews will close the right lane of southbound I-29 from East 16th to just north of Highway 24/Independence Ave. for deck core drilling work

Crews will the entrance ramps from eastbound and westbound Front St. to southbound I-29 from 8am until 3pm for deck core drilling work

                                   
 Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
