Nightly lane and ramp closures continue for portions of U.S. 50 for pavement work this week

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City continues to make pavement improvements along eastbound and westbound U.S. 50 between approximately Todd George Rd. to just north of Bannister/NW Colbern Rd. This work is scheduled until approximately July 2021. This work will require various lane and ramp closures. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes during that time. This week’s work includes the following closures. All work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will close the ramp from Chipman Rd. to westbound U.S. 50 beginning at 8 p.m. each evening until 5 a.m. the following mornings starting on Monday, July 19, through Thursday, July 22.
  • Crews will close the westbound U.S. 50 off ramp to eastbound I-70 beginning at 8 p.m. each evening until 5 a.m. the following mornings starting on Monday, July 19, through Thursday, July 22.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
