MoDOT Releases Details Regarding 2022 Route 50/63 Bridge Rehabilitations Project

Public Invited to Comment Online thru July 5

COLE COUNTY - Information is now available regarding the rehabilitation of three Route 50/Route 63 bridges over the Osage River and Moreau River in Cole County. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is inviting nearby residents and travelers to share their thoughts.

All three bridges have reached the point where rehabilitation is necessary in order to extend their lives and usability. Work on each bridge will include repairs and renovations such as the addition of expansion joints, adding a protective coat to exposed parts of the bridge structure, sandblasting and painting steel, installing new drains and rock blankets to protect the slopes, and other improvements. Specific plans for each bridge can be found on the project web page at www.modot.org/OsageMoreauBridgeRehabs.

Single lane closures will be required during construction. MoDOT says specific lane closure information will be announced through signs, media releases and social media when a timeline for the project has been established.

The work is expected to begin and be completed in 2022.

Motorists and area residents can ask questions, or provide feedback on this project using the digital comment form at www.modot.org/OsageMoreauBridgeRehabs. The online public comment period is open through July 5.
