Traffic Alert: Crews will close several lanes of US 169 Highway in Smithville

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close one lane of northbound and southbound 169 Highway just south of S. Commercial Ave. to Route 92 from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily, beginning Monday, June 14 and continuing through Tuesday, Sept. 7 for sidewalk, curb, and gutter improvement work. Work will also include some Saturdays. All work is weather dependent.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
