REMINDER: Signal improvements planned at the intersection of Beck Road and the Belt Highway tomorrow

St. Joseph, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation is reminding motorists that signal improvements will impact the intersection of U.S. Route 169 (the Belt Highway) and Beck Road beginning tomorrow, Thursday, June 10. Local crews will install a new signal cabinet, new detection equipment, and flashing yellow arrow signals for north/south traffic on the Belt Highway at Beck Road. The signals for east/west traffic on Beck Road will remain the same.

All work will be conducted at night from 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10, through 7 a.m. on Friday, June 11. Single-lane closures and turning restrictions may be in place at the intersection while work is ongoing. It may also be necessary to turn off the power at the intersection for brief periods of time. During signal power outages, drivers should treat the intersection as a four-way stop.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by always buckling up, keeping your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones. Know before you go and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.
