Traffic Alert: Lane closures scheduled for I-70 for guardrail work June 7-10

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will be conducting guardrail work along westbound and eastbound I-70 overnight beginning on Monday, June 7, through Thursday, June 10. This work will require various lane and ramp closures. All work is weather permitting.

  • Westbound I-70 will be reduced to ONE LANE from Adams Dairy Parkway to MO Route 7 for guardrail installation overnight on both Monday, June 7, and Tuesday, June 8, beginning at 7 p.m. each evening until 5 a.m. the following mornings.
  • Eastbound I-70 will be reduced to ONE LANE at Oak Grove for guardrail installation beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, until 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • The ramp from Adams Dairy Parkway to westbound I-70 will be closed for guardrail installation on both Wednesday, June 9, and Thursday, June 10, from 7 p.m. evening until 5 a.m. the following mornings.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
