Belt Highway roadway striping to begin next week

St. Joseph, Mo. – The final stage of the resurfacing project on U.S. Route 169 (Belt Highway) is scheduled to begin next week. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp. to resurface the Belt from Interstate 29 (at Exit 50) to Route FF and Route 6 (Frederick Boulevard) between the Belt Highway and I-29. While resurfacing was complete in the fall of 2020, roadway striping was postponed due to weather and material delays.

Striping is scheduled to beginning at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, and continue through Wednesday, June 9. Crews will begin on U.S. Route 169 from I-29 (Exit 50) and progress north to Rochester Road, including Frederick Boulevard.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
