Montgomery County Route N Bridge Replacement Set to Begin

MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, June 21, crews will close Montgomery County Route N over Interstate 70, located 1.8 miles east of Callaway County Route YY near Mineola, for bridge replacement. E & C Bridge, LLC, of Jamestown, Missouri, was awarded the project in the amount of $1,344,361. The contractor has 130 days to complete this project.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

“I-70 will experience some lane closures during certain phases of the project, especially during the demolition of the bridge starting on the night of June 21, so we ask motorists to please pay close attention to signs,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Erik Maninga. “To improve safety, the new bridge will be 28 feet wide, that is four feet wider than the existing bridge,” he added.

Crews will begin setting signs for the project to notify motorists of the closure. Some work on this project may take place during the night.
