COLE COUNTY – A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin seal coating and guardrail improvement work on several roadways in Cole County next week.
Starting Monday, June 7, crews will begin guardrail improvement work along Route U from Lookout Trail in Centertown to Route C, Route Y from Route M in Taos to Big Meadows Road, Route W from Route B in Wardsville to the end of state maintenance and Route J from Route 63 to 4th Street in Osage City. This work is expected to take a week to complete. Flaggers will guide motorists through the work zones.
Crews will then begin seal coating those same routes on Monday, June 14. This work will require intermittent daily lane closures. This work is also expected to take a week to complete.
Signs will be in place to alert motorists of the daily lane closures and flaggers and pilot vehicles will be used to guide motorists through the seal coating work zones. Drivers will need to slow down and obey all signs in work zones.
The project is expected to be completed by September 1, 2021.
This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
