Interstate overpasses on Cook Road and Gene Field to close next week

St. Joseph, Mo – Two St. Joseph area overpasses are scheduled for one-day closures next week for repairs to the bridge deck, or driving surface. In order to allow the concrete to cure, an around-the-clock closure is needed on each bridge.

  • Cook Road over Interstate 29 – Closing at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 7. Scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8.
  • Gene Field Road over Interstate 29 – Closing at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8. Scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9.

During the closures, motorists must use an alternate route. All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by always buckling up, keeping your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones. Know before you go and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.

Also at modot.org, sign up online for work zone updates. Information is also available 24/7 at 888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636) or via social media.
