HANNIBAL – With turbine construction complete on the wind farm in Adair and Schuyler Counties, Missouri Department of Transportation crews have been working on pavement repairs to the routes that were affected by the large truck traffic. Heavy loads of equipment and concrete contributed to deterioration of roads in the area.
“Our maintenance crews continue to make repairs to the routes affected,” said District Engineer Paula Gough. “We appreciate everyone’s patience as the recent wet conditions have delayed some of the work.”
Pavement repairs have been taking place on several state roads in Schuyler and Adair County. Initial repairs have taken place on Schuyler County Routes E, J, O and parts of Y, as well as Adair County Routes J and T. Repairs are also planned for Adair County Route A.
“Weather permitting, in the upcoming weeks, more extensive pavement work will take place to bring the roads back to their normal condition,” Gough said. The resurfacing work will begin on Schuyler County Routes D, V and O. More resurfacing is planned for other routes affected in the months ahead.
Funding for all repairs is being provided by an agreement between MoDOT and Terra-Gen, the wind farm company.
