Improvements on Westbound Interstate 70 to Begin Next Week

CALLAWAY COUNTY – As part of an ongoing Interstate 70 pavement improvement project in Callaway County, contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin making pavement upgrades along westbound Interstate 70 next week.

Work is scheduled to switch from the eastbound lanes of I-70 to the westbound lanes beginning the evening of Tuesday, June 1. Crews will be working from Kingdom City to the Boone/Callaway County line.

The overall project also includes resurfacing the eastbound and westbound ramps between Kingdom City and the Callaway/Boone County line and upgrading guardrail along the same stretch. Much of the work will take place overnight and result in periodic eastbound and westbound lane closures during the night.

The project is scheduled to be completed in November. Signs will alert motorists to lane closures or other traffic impacts.

Work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
