Nightly lane and ramp closures scheduled for portions of U.S. 50 and I-470 May 24-25

JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will be conducting signage work along portions of U.S. 50 and I-470 on Monday, May 24 and Tuesday, May 25. This work will require various OVERNIGHT lane and ramp closures. All work is weather permitting.

Monday, May 24

  • Crews will close the right lane of westbound U.S. 50 at Chipman Rd. as well as the exit lane to Chipman Rd. beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24, until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close the right lane of westbound U.S. 50 at I-470, as well as the eastbound I-470 ramp to northbound MO Route 350 beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24, until 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close the right lane of westbound U.S. 50 at Bannister Rd./Colbern Rd. as well as the ramp from westbound I-470 to northbound MO Route 350 beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24, until 5 a.m. the following morning.

Tuesday, May 25

  • Crews will close the right lane of westbound U.S. 50 at Chipman Rd. as well as the eastbound I-470 ramp to southbound MO Route 350 beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close the right lane of westbound U.S. 50 at 3rd St. beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, until 7 a.m. the following morning. The ramp to the ramp to 3rd St. will remain open.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
