U.S. 60/62 in Mississippi County Reduced for High Friction Surface Treatment

SIKESTON - U.S. Route 60/62 in Mississippi County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as contractor crews improve the driving surface.

This section of roadway is located between Route EE and the U.S. 60/62 bridge over the Mississippi River.

Weather permitting, work will take place Thursday, June 3 through Friday, June 18 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The work will include applying a high friction surface treatment. This process involves placing a thin layer of specially engineered, durable, high friction aggregate to the driving surface to improve traction.

The work zone will be marked with signs during this moving operation.  Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
