Greene County – Drivers can expect lane closings on Greene County Route D bridge over James River east of Springfield beginning the week of June 7 for a bridge rehabilitation project, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will replace the bridge deck (driving surface), install new guardrail at either end of the bridge and replace bridge joints.
Traffic Impacts:
- Phase 1: Beginning week of June 7
- Route D traffic will be shifted head-to-head in the westbound lanes across the James River bridge
- Phase 2: Beginning mid-August
- Route D traffic will be shifted head-to-head in the eastbound lanes across the James River bridge
- Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
- Drivers urged to find alternate routes
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
