HANNIBAL – Missouri Department of Transportation crews continue to focus on the poor condition of Route O in Warren County by filling in these areas of the road with rock to make it more solid and stable, and this work will continue through the month of May. Next month, asphalt will be laid on top of the rock repairs from Stracks Church Road north to Route M and from Spring Valley Road south to MO 47. “At this time, the rock repairs and adding some asphalt will provide more stability to the area of repairs,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Erik Maninga. He cautioned, however, that the asphalt road repairs will be rough since there are trucks still hauling material on this route.
After the asphalt repairs are completed, maintenance crews will go back between Stracks Church Road and Spring Valley Road, in the middle section of Route O, and dig out the poor locations to place rock in those locations to make it solid and stable.
The speed limit remains 35 mph, and signs indicating rough road ahead and road work ahead are prevalent throughout the area. Motorists are asked to please slow down and use caution on this road.
