Traffic Alert: 45 Spur at Route 92 closure in Platte County updated

PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has revised the work schedule regarding the project to build a new roundabout at Route 92 and 45 Spur in Platte County. All work is weather dependent.

Crews will close all lanes of 45 Spur at Route 92 beginning Monday, May 17 and continuing until Wednesday, June 16 (30 calendar days) for paving work. Originally, work was to begin Thursday, May 13, but was changed due to inclement weather.

Motorists have several detour options. If travelling east, they can continue to Route 92 eastbound, then take Route 45 southbound. If travelling west, motorists can continue to Route 45, then travel north until you reach Route 92 westbound. Detours signs and digital message boards will be in place to help direct motorists.

This is all part of a project to build a new roundabout at Route 92 and 45 Spur following a 2016 traffic study conducted on the Route 92 Centennial Bridge. The project is anticipated to be complete by winter of 2021.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
