Improvements on Interstate 70 to Begin Wednesday Night

CALLAWAY COUNTY – Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will be making pavement upgrades along Interstate 70 in Callaway County over the next several months.

Work is scheduled to begin the evening of Wednesday, May 5. Crews will begin working in the eastbound lanes, starting at the Boone/Callaway County line and ending at Kingdom City.

The overall project will include resurfacing of the eastbound and westbound lanes and ramps between Kingdom City and the Callaway/Boone County line. Guardrail upgrades will also take place along the same stretch. Much of the work will take place overnight and result in periodic eastbound and westbound lane closures during the night.

The project is scheduled to be completed in November. Signs will alert motorists to lane closures or other traffic impacts.

Work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
