Traffic Alert: Look for extended lane closure at Route 92 and I-29 in Platte Co

PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will make the following traffic change as part of the Route 92 over I-29 interchange improvement project. All work is weather dependent.

Crews will close the southbound right lane of I-29 at Route 92, beginning at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 and continuing until Friday, May 21 for pavement work.

This is all part of a project to improve the intersection at Prairie View Rd. and Running Horse Rd. to the city limits, just east of I-29. Improvements include adding additional turn lanes, pedestrian crosswalks, and new signals. Completion is expected in the fall of 2021.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
