Nightly paving operation scheduled for portions of I-470 and I-49 this week

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will be conducing paving work along portions Interstate 470 and I-49 beginning on Monday, May 3. This work will require various lane and ramp closures. All work is weather permitting.

Monday, May 3

  • Crews will have various lane closures in the area along southbound I-470 between approximately mile markers 16 and 14.6 beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following mornings on both Monday, May 3, and Tuesday, May 4.

Tuesday, May 4

  • Crews will have various lane closures in the area along southbound I-470 between approximately mile markers 16 and 14.6 beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following mornings on both Monday, May 3, and Tuesday, May 4

Wednesday, May 5

  • Crews will close the ramps from Pryor Rd. and westbound U.S. 50 to eastbound I-470 beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning on Wednesday, May 5.

Thursday, May 6

  • Crews will have various lane closures along northbound and southbound I-49 near Three Trails Crossing beginning at 7:30 p.m. until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning on Thursday, May 6.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
