St. Joseph, Mo. – A resurfacing project is set to begin next week on a 5.5-mile portion of Andrew County U.S. Route 59 between Interstate 29 and U.S. Route 71. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp. to complete the project. Crews plan to begin on Friday, May 7, by milling off pavement at transition points near bridges throughout the project limits.
Then, on Thursday, May 13, crews will begin resurfacing, followed by shoulder work and striping. All work is anticipated to be complete on, or before Tuesday, May 25. Workers may be present during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday, weather permitting.
Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. A 12-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project.
All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
