Sullivan County Route PP bridge to open this afternoon

St. Joseph, Mo. – The East Medicine Creek Bridge on Sullivan County Route PP, just east of Osgood, will open this afternoon to all traffic. Contractors from Widel, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to reopen the bridge to all traffic this afternoon, Friday, April 23, by 5 p.m.

The bridge was closed in late 2018 after a regularly scheduled inspection by MoDOT revealed critical deterioration to the structure. A project to replace the bridge began in March 2020. This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
